It’s impossible to know EPW without hearing something about her 5-year-old daughter Grace, who through her posts, pictures and cameo appearances in videos, we have all come to know and love.
Gracie in hospital
Yesterday, the lovely and most effervescent Miss Gracie PW was diagnosed with what doctors suspect is a juvenile pylocytic astrocytoma level 1 tumor in her cerebellum (for the technical details on diagnosis and treatment).
Today the 3cm tumor will be removed in a 6-hour surgery after which pathologists will examine the tumor to determine the course of treatment that follows.
As you can imagine this is devastating for both Elizabeth and Mark who both love her dearly and we’re asking people to send their prayers, wishes and healing energy to the little girl who has charmed us all with her joie de vivre and astute observations about life.

Status update: Gracie is out of surgery and in recovery. It will be about an hour before she returns to her room to be with her parents and 3 or 4 hours before she wakes up.
The report from the surgeon is that she did great and the tumor came out fine and is consistent with his original thinking that it was a juvenile pylocytic astrocytoma (to be confirmed by pathology).
Elizabeth and Mark are grateful for all the comments and wishes and are deeply touched by the outpouring of love for their daughter.
